Production of glass fiber roving in China:
Production process: Glass fiber roving is mainly produced through the pool kiln drawing method. This method involves melting raw materials such as chlorite, limestone, quartz sand, etc. into a glass solution in a kiln, and then drawing them at high speed to form raw glass fiber roving. Subsequent processes include drying, short cutting, and conditioning to make e glass roving. This material is widely used in various fields due to its light weight and high strength, corrosion resistance, heat insulation, flame retardant and other properties.
Production capacity: As of 2022, China’s glass fiber in-production capacity exceeds 6.1 million tons, of which electronic yarns account for approximately 15%. total production of glass fiber yarns in China will be approximately 5.4 million tons in 2020, growing to approximately 6.2 million tons in 2021, and production is expected to reach more than 7.0 million tons in 2022, showing a stable growth trend.
Market Demand:In 2022, the total output of glass fiber roving in China reached 6.87 million tons, a year-on-year growth of 10.2%. On the demand side, the apparent demand for glass fiber in China is 5.1647 million tons in 2022, an increase of 8.98% year-on-year. The downstream applications of the global glass fiber industry are mainly concentrated in the fields of construction and building materials and transportation, of which construction materials account for the highest proportion of about 35%, followed by transportation, electronic and electrical appliances, industrial equipment and energy and environmental protection.
Current situation of the industry: China’s fiberglass roving production capacity, technology and product structure are at the world’s leading level. Major enterprises in China’s glass fiber industry include China Jushi, Taishan Glass Fiber, Chongqing International, etc. These enterprises occupy more than 60% of the market share. Among them, China Jushi has the highest market share of over 30%.
